Swiss Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 200ml milk (whole milk recommended)

  • 100ml heavy cream

  • 100g high-quality dark chocolate, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 pinch salt

  • Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk and heavy cream over medium heat until steaming but not boiling.
  2. Reduce heat to low and add chopped dark chocolate, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  4. Continue to heat gently, stirring occasionally, until the hot chocolate is hot throughout.
  5. Remove from heat and pour Swiss hot chocolate into mugs.
  6. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your comforting Swiss Hot Chocolate!
